BARRY WATERFRONT FESTIVAL

A social evening with the Cadets and Officers of the tall ship Stavros S Niarchos was attended by over 100 people with some of the crew arriving in fancy dress and providing entertainment by playing their ukuleles. We knew from the following link this would this would be a very enjoyable and informative evening.

The Stavros S Niarchos is a British brig-rigged tall ship owned and operated by the Tall Ships Youth Trust.
She is primarily designed to provide young people with the opportunity to undertake voyages as character-building exercises, rather than pure sail-training. She is also used for adult voyages and holidays, which help subsidise the operation of the ship.

The unseasonable weather couldn't put a damper on people's spirits as they enjoyed seeing the magnificent tall ships Starvos S Niarchos and The Ruth.

Despite lashing rain and howling winds, hundreds of families braved the elements to attend the Tall Ships Festival at Barry Waterfront, organized by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

We had visitors to our tent with a growing interest in Sailing and Cadet Membership. Special thanks to the Cadets who were sailing over the weekend.
